APP Primary Care Essentials Simulation Series

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (4.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (4.00 hours)

The APP Primary Care Essentials Simulation Series will bring physician and APP subject matter experts to demonstrate detailed specialty practice workup, exams, and medical decision making with the aim of arming Primary Care APPs with skills they can use in their practice. The simulation will consist of an opening lecture from subject matter clinicians, followed by an example workup and treatment decision. The simulation will then allow the APP learner to run through a patient case on their own, demonstrating their newly gained knowledge and skills. The simulation will conclude with a Q & A session and closing remarks.

1. Primary Care APP will be able to demonstrate their ability to workup, diagnose, and treat complex patient conditions often cared for by specialty providers
2. Primary Care APPs will be able to identify when treatment in primary care versus referral to specialist is necessary
3. Primary Care APPs will be able to select the right specialist to refer to and provide a thorough workup to minimize additional or excessive labs or tests.

The MetroHealth System is accredited by the Ohio State Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].
