Overview
The second annual Clinical Skills Symposium is designed to improve clinical and teaching skills in the inpatient setting. We have selected topics highlighted by faculty as areas of interest. The agenda includes a keynote speaker addressing bedside medicine and patient-physician communication. This will be followed by a high stakes clinical scenario session highlighting common Rapid Response topics and evidence-based guidelines for the acutely ill patient on the hospital floor. Another session will b efocused on Teaching on the wards including a review of adult learning theory, dissemination of resources and tips and tricks. The last session will be focused on High Value Care and Bayesian reasoning as it pertains to hospital-based patient care. The workshop is targeted to academic clinicians, especially those who practice on the in-patient hospital floors. The workshop is designed to disseminate practical skills, resources and guidelines to improve clinical skills and teaching skills on the hospital wards.
