EMS Didactics - EMS & Infectious Disease and Protection of Personnel from ID

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (2.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (2.00 hours)

1. Define public health and explain the difference between EMS and Public Health
2. Discuss the role that EMS can play in public health and how public health can assist EMS goals
3. Discuss opportunities that exist in EMS to pursue public health programs.
4. Identify common and rare but dangerous infectious agents facing EMS
5. Describe methods to mitigate and prevent transmission of infectious diseases to EMS personnel
6. Describe the legislative and regulatory framework guiding preventative measures taken by EMS against infectious diseases

The MetroHealth System is accredited by the Ohio State Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].

The MetroHealth System reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets or hotel penalties.
