Overview
This comprehensive didactive lecture series is a core component of the Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship in Trauma, Emergency General Surgery (EGS), burn and surgical critical care. The lectures are designed to enhance the clinical knowledge and decision-making skills of APPs through structured education delivered by subject matter experts. Topics span the acute management of trauma, complex surgical emergencies, burn pathology and treatment, and principles of critical care including hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, sepsis management and multi-organ failure.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the pathophysiology of various topics related to trauma, emergency general surgery, burn and critical care.
  2. Describe how to correctly work up patients with various conditions related to trauma, emergency general surgery, burn and critical care.
  3. Use evidence-based guidelines to appropriately treat and manage patients with various conditions related to trauma, emergency general surgery, burn and critical care.

Accreditation
The MetroHealth System is accredited by the Ohio State Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
